The purpose of the present study was to identify the prevalenceof and predictors for hepatitis C virus among drug users in Anchorage, Alaska. Previous studies describing hepatitis C virus risk factors have used risk behavior data from clinical settings. Thecurrent design was unique in that data were collected at a nonclinical location from drug users who were not involved indrug treatment at the time.
