All persons born from 1937 to 1943 who resided in Bergen, Norway, and at the age of 14 attended Special Schools for EMR students or who received care from the Services for the Mentally Retarded were followed-up at age 27 to 33. A total of 77 of these 92 persons were called in for an interview and given medical and psychological examinations; 59 of them were tested with the WAIS. A relationship was found between obtaining a disability pension as an adult and Full Scale IQ on the WAIS.
