Huntley et al. (1963) recently reported on the occurrence of brucellosis among Eskimos inhabiting the Arctic slope of Alaska. The purpose of this paper is to present evidence to support the conclusion that the organisms isolated from Alaskan Eskimos are members of the species B. suis and also to provide epidemiologic information concerning the source of infection for reindeer herds in Alaska.
