Behavioral healthcare is a critical subset of the overall healthcare delivery system in Alaska.Inadequate programs, services, and facilities limit the quality and access for people in need. Behavioral health resources such as workforce development, logistics, reimbursement, etc., must beaddressed in conjunction with programs, services, and facilities. This study addressed behavioral health service and facility needs for residents of rural Alaska--defined as all of Alaska except for the"urban areas" of Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau.
