Abstract
The Tlingit shaman used his powers to cure the sick, combat witches, assure success in battle, cleanse the village of malevolent spirits, control the weather, guarantee good fish runs, prognosticate the future, interact with those far off, and rescue people kidnapped by land otters. The Tlingit shaman presented a striking image.
