Materials characterizing the consequences of emergency situation caused by natural type in Tyrnyauz, the Kabardin-Balkar Republic, are presented. As shown in these materials, mud flows from the surrounding mountains resulted in the damage inflicted to the main life-supporting systems of the town: water supply and sewage, power supply, medical institutions and, partially, housing resources. As the result of urgent measures carried out in cooperation with the departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, health services and state sanitary and epidemiological surveillance services epidemiological safety could be ensured in the town. In carrying out prophylactic measures the main attention was paid to the provision of the population with good-quality drinking water, foodstuffs, the active detection of patients with enteric infections, the bacteriological control of water in surface reservoirs for the pathogenic microflora.
The estimation of the contribution of foodstuff in security of the population of the Russian Federation by vitamin C in view of volumes of their consumption is lead. It is shown, that the basic sources of vitamin, borrowing in the general structure of consumption of foodstuff about 30%, do not provide sufficient volume its receipt. The real maintenance of vitamin C certain by standard analytical methods in some fruit-and-vegetable cultures, shows significant variability and difference from the given official tables of a chemical compound. The lack of the micronutrient is expedient to compensate by inclusion of biologically active additives to food or enriched foodstuff in a diet.
The article raises the question of the need to consider aging in the context of social security. The author the author shows the main stages of the humanitarization of social security, the trend of development of theoretical ideas in the direction of «human security», which develops within the framework of «enhanced security». The main object of social security of the elderly people is the safety of physical and psychological health. The object of security is comprised of three components: safety of medical care, drug provision and food security. The relevance of these issues to Russian practice is substantiated on the basis of research materials. Some shortcomings of the state social protection of elderly people are shown.
